September 2017-Present

Student, University of Calgary

ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE

I am currently pursuing a geomatics engineering degree through studies at the University of Calgary. Engineering has always been at the forefront of my career objectives, and I chose to major in geomatics because I believe remote sensing will be the future of land management. Anticipated date of graduation is 2021.

Competitor & Medalist

CANADA WIDE SCIENCE FAIR

I participated in the Canada Wide Science Fair during all 6 years of eligibility for a variety of self-directed science projects. These included research topics such as late-cretaceous palaeontology, aerodynamics of annular winged aircraft, and designing a high efficiency snow transportation system. For my projects I medaled several times, including winning a silver medal in 2012.

2005-2012

Volunteer

ALBERTA PALEONTOLOGICAL SOCIETY

From a young age I had a strong interest in palaeontology, and was fortunate to have the opportunity as a member of the Alberta Paleontological Society to engage in a volunteer capacity with several ongoing research projects. Primarily, my role involved sorting and identifying microfossils from matrix rock, and occasionally field collection and identification of fossils.

Designing and making jewelry has been a passion of mine for nearly ten years. In this time, I have established a brand around my work, including developing a strong social media presence. These videos receive over 30k unique monthly views on YouTube.

QUALITIES

SELF DIRECTED
Throughout my life I've consistently worked hard to accomplish new things. I am very goal orientated and nothing gives me greater satisfaction than turning an idea into reality.
PASSIONATE

I take a huge amount of pride in doing almost any job, even the not so glamorous ones. Whether it's developing a marketing strategy for a client, or bussing tables at a restaurant (my first job) I always enjoy the process of doing something well.

INNOVATIVE

Innovation is a natural outcome of being passionate and self directed. I love finding better ways of doing things, and applying concepts or ideas differently.
